The husband of rapper and songstress Nicki Minaj, Kenneth Petty was sentenced Wednesday 6 July 2022 to one year of home confinement.
Minaj married her husband, Kenneth Petty, in 2019, after first dating him as a teenager. The “Pills and Potions” singer together with Petty had their first baby in October 2020.
He had failed to register as a sex offender when he moved to Los Angeles. Petty moved to California in July 2019, and during a traffic stop in Beverly Hills authorities learned he had not registered, officials said. He was impeached in March 2020.
Kenneth Petty was compelled to register as a sex offender after he was found guilty of first-degree attempted rape in New York. Kenneth Petty 16, according to court documents. When Kenneth Petty was 16 he had to serve nearly four years in prison after the New York attempted rape conviction in 1995.
Kenneth Petty was sentenced to three years of probation and fined $55,000.
