Ralph Fields Jr. was reported dead on May 17, 2022, at the age of 34. According to the report, he suddenly passed away in a hospital near Jack Farrell Park after he was shot severally in a daylight gun battle at the California park.

The incident is said to have happened in the late hours of Tuesday, at about 6 p.m. Three other people were victims of the sad incident but are treated for non-life-threatening wounds.

In 2014, Ralph was arrested and in prison on conspiracy charges related to a major gang sweep. He served two years in state prison and was paroled. His killing happens to be the first homicide of the year in East Palo Alto.
