Mexican police find body of missing woman in cistern

November 2024 · 2 minute read

A young lady freshly identified as Debanhi Escobar has been discovered dead in a motel’s basement water tank.

She was abandoned by the side of a highway late at night in northern Mexico.

She was last seen on April 9, 2022, in Nuevo León, Mexico with officials only left with her rotting body.

Assistant Public Safety Secretary Ricardo Mejia said that the woman’s body, which was seemingly unrecognizable after nearly two weeks had a crucifix necklace.

He also stressed the clothing that Debanhi Escobar was wearing the night she went missing was in full glare for all to see.

Despite what police in the border state of Nuevo Leon characterized as a large hunt for her, the tale ended the way it usually does in Mexico: with her body being discovered by locals.

On April 8, Escobar went to a party with two friends and got into a dispute with at least one of them.

One of her companions used a ride-hailing service to transport her home.

The driver who picked her up was not on duty, so he dropped her off on the side of a rural road near Escobedo, the same city where her companions had been partying.

Escobar’s dreams of becoming a lawyer are crushed by evil persons in Northern Mexico.

Investigations are ongoing at the time of this writing.
