Yvette Carmen Mimieux was a film and television actress from the United States.
She was born in Los Angeles on January 8, 1942, to French-born René Mimieux and Mexican-born Maria Montemayor.
Mimieux had at least two siblings: a sistern named Gloria, and a brother called Edouardo. Jim Byron, her talent manager, advised she pursue a career as an actor and she never looked back.
She took dance and singing classes and performed in plays for a local theatre for a while. In 1959, Mimieux made his television debut in episodes of the series Yancy Derringer and One Step Beyond after signing a seven-year deal with MGM in 1959.
During her amazing acting career, she was nominated for 3 Golden Globe Awards. She is arguably most recognised for her breakthrough performance in The Time Machine (1960).
