Both her father, Jaak (a real estate agent), and mother, Anne (a housewife), were tennis players. Kaia first became interested in tennis at an early age after witnessing her parents and sisters play. She began playing at the age of eight.

Her family has always supported her desire to become a professional tennis player. Before becoming a professional in 2000, she topped the International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior rankings.

She had always wanted to be a professional tennis player, so she enrolled at one of the best universities, studied hard, and ultimately became one.

Currently, she is a four-time WTA singles champion.
