American actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish has received a warm welcome in her ancestral home, Eritrea, on her recent visit.
Tiffany is currently in the East African country to embark on a family project. Upon her arrival in her grandfather’s village, she received a warm welcome from the townies.
She disclosed this in an Instagram post on Tuesday, December 28.
“I am so happy to be welcome by my Grandfather’s village so warmly. I Love my People. #Eritrea,” she captioned a photo gallery she shared on her Instagram page.
In her post, Tiffany is seen garbed in an Eritrean flag while unveiling a plaque that has her legal name embossed on it.
The inscription on the plaque states: “Tiffany Tsebaya Hadish Residence, Geza Keren, Eritrea.”
From the inscription on the plaque, it looks like a residence or an estate has been named after her. It could also mean she has built an estate and was there to unveil it.
Even though Tiffany was born an American, she always claims Eritrea as her home. Her father, Tsihaye Reda Haddish, was an Eritrean refugee who moved to the United States before giving birth to her.
In 2019, she gained Eritrean citizenship during the country’s 28th Independence Celebration.
