News of American teen television personality Kailia Posey made headlines in the first week of May.

The teenage acting sensation was confirmed to have passed away through a post made on Facebook by her mother.

Her death comes as a bitter blow for her family and friends, especially her mother Marcy Posey Gatterman who had the traumatic burden of announcing the death of her own daughter.

Kailia Posey was featured on the show Toddlers and Tiaras where she made her breakthrough as a television personality while still a child. The show which aired on the TLC network for seven years until its conclusion in 2013 gave insight into the lives of young beauty pageants and their families as they compete in various pageantry and beauty contests.

Kailia who was a model and pageant announced her participation in the Miss Washington beauty pageant which took place in February of this year.
