The New York Rangers captain and American professional ice hockey defenceman Jacob Trouba was born on February 26, 1994.

In the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Winnipeg Jets selected Trouba ninth overall. Before being moved to the Rangers in 2019, he spent the first six years of his career there.

According to a report by the wall street journal, Trouba has paid $6.7 million for a condo in Tribeca.

The condo he has purchased has already housed celebs like actress Jennifer Lawrence and Mike Myers and Justin Timberlake.

The landmarked structure’s 3,000-square-foot apartment is housed inside a warehouse that was built in the late 1800s.

In the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Winnipeg Jets selected Trouba ninth overall.

With the Detroit Compuware minor ice hockey team, Trouba participated in the 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament as a child.

Later, he spent two seasons with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, competing in the USHL and many international competitions.

Trouba made his NHL debut for the Winnipeg Jets on October 1, 2013. He was hurt after he slid into the boards during a game against the St. Louis Blues in his rookie season of 2013–14, which resulted in him missing more than a month of activity.

He requested a trade from the Jets, according to a statement his agent issued in September 2016. He and the organization reached a two-year, $6 million contract extension on November 7.

On July 22, 2018, the Jets gave Trouba a one-year, $5.5 million agreement.

Along with Thomas Chabot and Morgan Rielly, he is one of just three defensemen under 25 to reach that milestone. Trouba had 50 points at the conclusion of the regular season in 2018–19.
