David Madison Cawthorn, the U.S. representative for North Carolina’s 11th congressional district since 2021 has been in a wheelchair for close to a decade now after he was involved in a car accident when he was a teenager.

Born on August 1, 1995, in Asheville, North Carolina, the United States to Priscilla and Roger Cawthorn, Madison got involved in the said car accident with his friend who has been identified as Bradley Ledford.

Bradley Ledford who was the driver when the incident happened was said to have fallen asleep at the wheel causing their car accident.

The car was said to have crashed into a concrete barrier while Cawthorn’s feet were on the dashboard and that got him partially paralyzed.
