Tributes flood the internet following Trudy Haynes, a former Eyewitness News reporter’s death. Per rumors, the veteran news anchor died today (June 7th) at age 96.

Her death cause is not known however her autopsy report would be ready in no time to unravel that mystery. Trudy was a journalist trailblazer and a longtime fixture at CBS3, where she worked for over three decades.

When Haynes became Philadelphia’s first Black TV reporter, she changed the face of the news industry. We now commemorate her life and all that she meant to us and the legacy she leaves behind.

Haynes worked for CBS3 from 1965 until her retirement in 1999. During her career  She interviewed Martin Luther King Jr., former President Lyndon B. Johnson, and former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. She also spoke with a number of Philadelphia mayors and Pennsylvania governors.

Trudy was married to her life partner Kevon Pinder for several decades. However, they kept their relationship private for a very long time to the extent that even their children are not known in the public space.
