Luke Allen was an American baseball player who died on April 26, 2022.
He played for the Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball.
After graduating from Newton High School, he was signed as an amateur free agent by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1996.
For the 1996 season, Allen was assigned to the Great Falls Dodgers.
Allen made his Major League Baseball debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers. As a pinch hitter against the San Francisco Giants in September 2002. On September 14, he got his first hit against Kent Mercker of the Colorado Rockies.
The Dodgers sold the excellent youngster to the Rockies in January 2003 in exchange for American outfielder Jason Romano.
He spent most of the season with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate.
He was 43 when he died.
