Jak Knight, a stand-up comedian, writer, and actor who performed on “Bust Down,” has passed away.

He was 28.

He was believed to have died of an unknown illness. Knight’s spokesperson confirmed in a statement that he died Thursday night at his Los Angeles residence.

According to the spokesperson, Knight’s family acknowledged his passing and would not divulge any other information at this time.

In 2022, Knight co-starred with Chris Redd, Sam Jay, and Langston Kerman in the Peacock original series “Bust Down.” He also co-executive produced HBO’s “Pause with Sam Jay” and voiced Devon on the Netflix animated comedy “Big Mouth” from 2017 to 2021.

Knight also did live stand-up all around the world, with his half-hour Netflix special appearing in 2018 as part of “The Comedy Lineup” series.

“RIP, Jak Knight,” comedian Tim Dillon wrote. “We worked on Netflix specials together for years. He was a lovely man and an immensely witty original voice in comedy who will be dearly missed.”

“When he was actually only a youngster, I used to see him with his bag on at all the LA performances,” wrote Ben Mandel. “He was amusing from the start and always had a great smile on his face.” It’s heartbreaking to learn about his death. Please say a prayer for his family and go see his humor.
