Born in Biggar, Scotland but reared in Florida, Jacklin Jr. is named after his father’s close friend, Sean Connery, and aspires to play for Europe in the Ryder Cup, which was so important to his father’s professional career. The 30-year-old qualified for the third major of the season in a Final Qualifying competition in Florida.

His parents moved to the United States in 1993, just before two-time major winner Jacklin snr became qualified for the Champions Tour, and he has spent the majority of his life there. Jacklin Jr., who went to the University of North Carolina, won the Florida Junior Tour Championship that year by seven shots.
