Sydney Michelle McLaughlin is an American hurdler and sprinter. She was born on August 7, 1999. She set a new world record on July 22, 2022, while winning gold in the world championship in Eugene, Oregon.

She won the gold medal in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and broke the Olympic record at the tournament. She became the first woman to breach 52 seconds in the 400 m hurdles.
