An incident during the fourth qualifying session of the Isle of Man TT claimed the life of a TT rider.
Mark Purslow was killed in a car accident near Ballagarey on his third lap, shortly before the fourth mile marker.
The 29-year-old from Llanon, Ceredigion, made his TT Mountain Course debut in the 2015 Manx Grand Prix, winning the lightweight race in his first outing.
His family has released a statement expressing their “beyond heartbreak.”
“He will advise us all to stop crying, have a laugh and a drink for him, and celebrate his achievements,” they continue.

In 2017, the Welsh rider competed in the Supersport and Lightweight classes at the Isle of Man TT.
In 2016, 2018, and 2019, Mark had competed in the Classic TT.
He was competing in the Isle of Man TT for the second time this year.
During the session, Mark set a new record for fastest lap speed on the Mountain Course, clocking in at 120.86mph.
