William Batchelder was the 101st Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives. He born on December 19, 1942.

Batchelder graduated from Medina High School before attending Ohio Wesleyan University and getting a Bachelor’s degree in history. He then received his Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State University College of Law.

Batchelder was first elected to the Ohio Statehouse in 1969. He is a Republican.

After departing in 1999, he returned in 2007 and was appointed Speaker in 2011.Due to the term limit laws, he departed his position in 2014.
