Ryan Crouser is an American shot putter and discus thrower who is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and Olympic record holder.

He currently holds the world record in the shot put, both indoor and outdoor.

Ryan Crouser was born into a family of throwers, ranging from his father to uncles to even his cousins. One of such cousins is javelin thrower, Sam Crouser.

Like his younger cousin Ryan, Sam also attended Gresham High School where he was named Gatorade High School Track and Field Athlete of the Year in 2010.

Like the rest of his family, he also attended the University of Oregon. There, he won his second national title at 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

His sister Haley is also a javelin thrower. She completed the family trifecta by setting the national high school record in the girl’s javelin throw.
