American rapper NBA YoungBoy Never Broke Again has been listed for Grammy 2022 just one month after coming out of jail.

Legally known as Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, NBA YoungBoy, 22, can now be credited with a Grammy nod – even though he didn’t receive a direct nomination.

His performance on Tyler, The Creator’s hit “Wusyaname” (which also features Ty Dolla Sign) has been recognised by the Recording Academy.  

The song has been listed under the “Best Melodic Rap Performance” and will compete with “Pride Is the Devil” by J. Cole featuring Lil Baby, “Need to Know” by Doja Cat, “Industry Baby” by Lil Nas X featuring Jack Harlow and “Hurricane” by Kanye West featuring the Weeknd and Lil Baby.

If Tyler, The Creator wins the “Best Melodic Rap Performance” award, the Recording Academy will recognise NBA YoungBoy with a certificate.

NBA YoungBoy has finally been released from jail after fulfilling $500,000 bail condition. He’s been indicted by a grand jury on charges of possessing a firearm as a felon and possessing a firearm not registered to him, according to TMZ.
