He moved to Toledo in the late 1950s. He was also known as Skip among his friends.
His broadcasting career began as an announcer for a Sandusky radio station. He eventually relocated to Cleveland to work as an announcer for NBC.
He soon went to Toledo and began working as an anchor for WTOL.
In 1967, he began his career at 13abc, then known as WSPD-TV, an NBC affiliate.
After 20 years with Channel 13, he retired in 1987.
He died at the age of 96.
