Danielle Grace Kang (born October 20, 1992) is a professional golfer from the United States who currently competes on the LPGA Tour. She won the US Women’s Amateur twice as an amateur, in 2010 and 2011. She won the LPGA’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in 2017.
Kang lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Kang was a member of the Pepperdine golf team during the regular season in 2011. She was declared academically ineligible to play in the NCAA postseason in 2011, but she remarked that she was not unhappy because “Pepperdine is a distant memory for me. I’m thinking about the future. After winning the US Women’s Amateur, she went pro.”
Kang won the US Women’s Amateur in 2010 and participated as an amateur in all four majors in 2011. She made the cut in three majors, including the LPGA Championship when she was the lone non-professional. Kang finished in a tie for 49th position as the lowest amateur at the Women’s British Open. She won the United States Women’s Amateur again in 2011.
Kang won the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions on January 23, 2022, at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida.
Kang barely lost out on a rare back-to-back win to begin a new LPGA season when her longtime friend Lydia Ko defeated her by one shot in the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio tournament on January 27-30. They were level at 12-under after the 14th hole of the fourth round when Ko birdied the 15th to grab the lead, and they both birdied the 16th before parring the next two holes. In comparison to Ko’s $300,000, she got $184,255.
