Mark Stephen Shield was an American political columnist and commentator. He is known for his work covering the election campaigns of several Democratic candidates’ over the years.
Shields was born and raised in Weymouth, Massachusetts, to Catholic parents. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1959.
