British music legend Elvis Costello is well known for producing chart-topping hit singles in the late 1970s.
The multiple award-winning legend has released 24 solo albums and collaborated with legends including Burt Bacharach, Allen Toussaint, and hip-hop band the Roots.
He has multiple awards in his career, including Grammy Awards in 1999 and 2020. He has twice been nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Male Artist as well.
Even though he has entertained millions of people around the globe and is seen as a hero, he has some health problems, just like every human.
Elvis Costello health: What disease does Elvis Costello have?
In 2018, Elvis Costello disclosed that he was diagnosed with “a small but very aggressive cancerous malignancy.” He canceled his tours for that year following the diagnosis.
“Six weeks ago my specialist called me and said, ‘You should start playing the Lotto.’ He had rarely, if ever, seen such a small but very aggressive cancerous malignancy that could be defeated by a single surgery,” Costello disclosed on his official website.
“I was elated and relieved that our European summer tour could go ahead,” he continued.
He alluded to the nature of his cancer – which is not specifically named – by addressing his male fans: “Gentleman [sic], do talk to your friends – you’ll find you are not alone – seek your doctor’s advice if you are in doubt or when it is timely and act as swiftly as you may in these matters. It may save your life. Believe me, it is better than playing roulette.”
