Alexey Borisovich Miller is a Russian oligarch who was born on 31 January 1962.

Miller was born to an assimilated Russo-German family in Leningrad. Boris Vasilyevich Miller and Lyudmila Alexandrovna were his parents.

He went on to study at and graduate from the Leningrad Institute of Finance and Economics, where he earned a PhD in economics.

Alexei having acquired his graduation and went to work in his specialty at the LenNIIproekt Research Institute as a postgraduate student. Miller received his CES degree in 1989.

Miller is today Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Management Committee (CEO) of Russia’s largest enterprise and the world’s largest public energy provider, Gazprom.

He has been the Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee since 2001. He has also served as vice chairman of Gazprom’s board of directors since 2002.
