Rona Newton-John is an Australian actress and a model in her early years and had many small acting roles – notably on The Benny Hill Show (1969), the British television series UFO (1970) and the film “The Same Skin” (UK) (also known as Brotherly Love (1970).

She comes from an accomplished family. Her older brother is called Hugh and he is a doctor and her younger sister is Olivia Newton-John, who is the famed British-born Australian singer and actress.

Rona and her siblings’ grandfather was German physicist, Max Born and a Nobel prize-winner.

Their mother was Irene Born – a writer, photographer and environmentalist and their father was Brinley Newton-John – a Professor (Cambridge’s King College) and a Dean gifted with an operatic voice.

Rona recorded a song called “Just Us Two” with her sister Olivia in 1972 and was a guest on The Mike Douglas Show (1961) (USA) in 1979. The cooking segment of the show also featured Rona and Olivia preparing their English soup recipe. Rona also enjoys writing.

She was married three times in her life before passing away. She first got married to Brian Goldsmith in 1961 and divorced in 1968.

They were married for 7 years and they had 3 children together. She then found love again for the second time with Graeme Anthony Fifield-Hall in 1969 but did marriage did not hold for long and the two divorced.

They were blessed with a child. Her third marriage was with Jeff Conaway. They got married on January 9, 1980, and got separated in 1985.

How did Rona Newton-John die?

Olivia Newton-John’s sister died after a battle with brain cancer. Rona died of a very aggressive brain tumour and mercifully suffered no pain.

She was surrounded by the love of her four children namely Fiona, Brett, Tottie and Emerson and, her wonderful friends.

She made her departure on May 24, 2013, in Los Angeles, California, United States.
