In the news today, Steven Gerrard has been appointed as manager of English Premier League club Aston Villa. He was appointed as the new Aston Villa head coach on Thursday, November 11.

After the signing, he took to his Instagram page to say: “A massive thank you to the Aston Villa fans for the warm welcome I have received.

“I’m well aware of the stature of the football club and how special an atmosphere you all create at Villa Park – I’m looking forward to sampling that for the first time as your new Head Coach next weekend.

“I can’t wait to get started. I’m looking forward to meeting all the staff and players and getting to work out on the training pitch,” he adds.

While at Liverpool, he was worshipped and cherished. And even after he retired from active football, he still receives the same love.
