According to a source, Jon Dantzler, a 17-year-old Ed White High School football player, was shot and died yesterday night on April 18, 2022, in McGirt’s Creek Park.

Dee Webb, a former Jacksonville Jaguars player and football faculty ambassador at Ed White High School, claimed Dantzler played on the junior varsity squad and attended Horizon North Campus.

Webb said he is devastated and horrified that another comrade had died so at such a tender age. He stated that this is not the first time an Ed White High School football player has been slain, and he wishes for an end to gun violence.

Officers claimed the 17-year-old was at the park with other youngsters when the incident occurred.

Dantzler and the other youngsters left the park and drove to a Publix parking lot off 103rd Street, where authorities were contacted and Dantzler was found dead.
