A cast member of the well-known Netflix series “Outer Banks,” Alexander “AJ” Jennings, passed away.
Jennings, 22, was struck on James Island, south of Charleston, around 2:30 in the morning, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
According to WCBD, Charleston Police Department officers stopped a second vehicle during a traffic stop near the city’s center.
The initial car that struck Jennings is still being sought after by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
Jennings served as Chase Stokes’ body double while he was portraying “John B.” The third season of the show is now being filmed in the Charleston region.
Stokes shared a message on Instagram lamenting Jennings’ passing.

He was killed in a hit-and-run early on Tuesday morning after being hit by several vehicles.
He was reportedly struck by two vehicles while crossing the road, according to law enforcement sources. Both cars sped off the scene.
There have been no charges brought in connection with Jennings’ death.
Jennings, 22, relocated from New York to Charleston to fill in for the show’s principal male actor, Chase Stokes. According to casting director Kimmie Stewart, he was not working for the program at the time he was hit.
Stewart told The Post and Courier that Jennings was “one of the sweetest persons I’ve ever encountered.”
