Byung Jin Pak is a Korean-American lawyer and politician who served as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia from 2017 to 2021.

Pak formerly served as a Republican in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2011 until 2017. Byung was the District Attorney for Georgia’s Northern District.  Under President Donald Trump’s orders, he was replaced by Bobby Christine, District Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia.

Pak was a Republican in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017. Pak chose not to compete for re-election in the November 2016 election after serving in the 102nd District from 2011 to 2013 and the 108th District from 2013 to 2017.

Pak formerly worked as a federal prosecutor. As an Assistant United States Attorney, he oversaw the prosecution of persons who attempted to steal Coca-trade Cola’s secrets and sell them to Pepsi.

Pak is Georgia’s first Asian-American United States Attorney and the state’s first Korean-American lawmaker.
