Art Rupe was an American record producer, oil and gas tycoon, and philanthropist who died on Friday, April 15, 2022.

Rupe co-founded JukeBox Records with Ben Siegert in late 1944. 

He was a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer living in Santa Barbara, California, home.

Arthur N. Goldberg was born to a Jewish working-class family in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and grew up in adjacent McKeesport in the Pittsburgh metropolitan region.

He went to Virginia Tech and Miami University of Ohio for college before moving to Los Angeles in 1939 to make his dreams come true.

His debut album, Boogie #1, was recorded on shoestring budget with only three musicians and sold 70,000 copies, making it regional smash at the time.

He was 104 years old.
