Robert Edward Turner III is an American entrepreneur, television producer, media proprietor, and philanthropist. He founded the Cable News Network, the first 24-hour cable news channel. In addition, he founded WTBS, which pioneered the superstation concept in cable television, which later became TBS.

Ted Turner was born on November 19, 1938 (age 83 years), in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Ted has been married three times in his lifetime and has been blessed with five children from all his marriages. Ted happens to be the owner of the popular news network CNN.
