Osker Sala was a German physicist, composer, and pioneer of electronic music. He was on July 18 1910 to Paul Sala and Annemarie Sala. He played an instrument called the Trautonium, an early form of electronic synthesizer.
Sala introduce the Trautonium by performing with Paul Hindemith on June 20, 1930. It was a public performance held at the Berliner Musikhochschule Hall, called “Neue Musik Berlin 1930″. Later Sala toured Germany with the Trautonium. He was the soloist in a performance of Hindemith’s Concert for Trautonium with String Quartet, in 1931. He also soloed in the debut of Hindemith student Harald Genzmer’s “Concert for Trautonium and Orchestra”.
