She performed a broad range of parts, but is mostly recognized for her interpretations of Verdi and the bel canto repertoire, especially the works of Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti.

In September 2018, she was admitted to the same hospital for a gallbladder problem. She died there on 6 October 2018 at the age of 85.
Her autopsy report is currently not available hence the real death cause is unknown.
