Eight concert-goers have reportedly passed away while several others are injured at last Friday’s Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas.
Headlined by Travis Scott, the sold-out concert which was held at the NRG Park in Houston, Texas, on Friday night (November 6) was marred by tragedy.
According to Samuel Peña, Chief of Houston Fire Department, who confirmed the casualties, it was “a tragic night” for Houston.

Samuel Peña said an estimated 50,000 people thronged the NRG Park in Houston to witness the concert. It was a sold-out event – which means all tickets for the event were sold.

According to Peña, the trouble started around 9 p.m. He said the crowd began to compress toward the front of the stage. Chaos and stampede broke out and as a result, it caused some panic and started causing some injuries.
He said attendees began to fall out and become unconscious and that created additional panic.
