Jason Momoa was born on August 1, 1979, in Hawaii, but grew up in Iowa.
After high school, he returned to Hawaii and began modeling, which led to an acting career.
Momoa immediately auditioned for a starring part on the international hit television show Baywatch (then known as Baywatch Hawaii).
He was chosen from over 1,000 other performers for the role of Jason Ioane, which he portrayed for two seasons. After the show finished in 2001, Momoa traveled across the world, including Tibet, where he found Buddhism.
He’s been busy with film projects and the TV adventure drama Frontier, as well as being cast in the big-screen adaptation of DC Comics character Aquaman.
Momoa got the role of Khal Drogo on HBO’s Game of Thrones in 2011, following long-running stints on Baywatch Hawaii and Stargate: Atlantis.
In the same year, Momoa starred in the new Conan the Barbarian film as the title character.
Momoa earned Hawaii’s Model of the Year and walked the catwalk for Louis Vuitton at the Governor’s Fashion Show in 1999, thanks to his attractive looks and sculpted physique.
His parents have had a fair share of his acting skills hence they are willing to support their son in whatever way they feel.
