Nicardo Blakewill, also known as “Papa Blake” was the event promoter who was stabbed by Jamaican reggae star, Jah Cure in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Siccaturie Alcock popularly known as Jah Cure has been sentenced to six years in Netherland prison for attempted manslaughter.
Papa Blake booked Jah Cure to perform at his event. However, the promoter Papa Blake refused to pay Jah Cure an amount of 5,000 euros after his performance.
According to Tim Scheffer, the lawyer of Jah Cure, he claimed his client acted out of self-defense and never planned to stab the promoter, Papa Blake. The court rejected the claim of self-defense.
According to Telegraaf, one of the judges out of the tree stated that; “There is still too little evidence for a preconceived plan to take the victim’s life”
The Press Officer of the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service, Franklin Wattinimena told Dancehallmeg, “The 43-year-old man was sentenced to six years in prison with the credit for time served for attempted murder. His claim of self-defense was rejected by the court”
The court described the case as an ” apparently fairly trivial conflict” in which the 43-year old Prison Walls singer “blew up and escalated”.
