In 2008, accomplished golfer, J.J Spaun graduated from San Dimas High School. He attended San Diego State University, where he was a two-time All-Mountain West Conference pick in 2010 and 2011, as well as the Conference Player of the Year in 2012.

Spaun’s victory placed him into the top three on the PGA Tour Canada’s (renamed Mackenzie Tour in 2015) Order of Merit, earning him a spot in the 2015 RBC Canadian Open. Spaun made his PGA Tour debut at the Canadian Open, finishing T41.
Spaun surpassed the PGA Tour Canada single-season earnings record with two tournaments remaining in the 2015 season. He made the cut in all eleven tournaments he played, including a tour-record four straight top-five performances.
