The hashtag #PickAsideYouTube is trending on Twitter on Monday, December 27, because many petitioners headed by Spencer Karter want the current CEO of Youtube, Susan Wojcicki, to resign with immediate effect.
Some of Susan’s recent policies seem to have angered lots of users on the streaming service.
Spencer’s petitioned letter on the Change.org site states:
“As of December 27, 2021, we’ve reached more than 226k signatures to demand the ouster of Disgraced YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, making greater progress!
As of 12:11 a.m. EST today, #PickASideYouTube was trending #3 on Twitter. We’re tired of the censorship, we’re tired of the corruption, we’re tired of the BS! I heard that YouTube has been accused of censoring videos exposing paedophiles, which is sickening and disgusting.
This is a PR Nightmare, this is a Public Relations Nightmare. Unfortunately, not a single mention of #PickASideYouTube is mentioned on Google News, nor its competitor Bing News.
Hey Google, Don’t Be Evil, This is Not Normal! Susan Wojcicki is a troublesome person, her leadership at YouTube must come to an end, we want a new common sense leadership, and put the ‘You’ back into YouTube. Susan Wojcicki Must Go! That’s my #NewYearsResolution for 2022! Susan Wojcicki Must Go!
I hope you have a safe 2022!”
The petition which has been set for 300,000 signatories has achieved about 90 per cent of its goal. Over 220,000 people have signed the petition so far.
