On Wednesday (June 15), the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol attack released new surveillance footage showing GOP Rep. Barry Loudermilk leading a group of people who were perceived to be tourists at the Capitol complex a day before the attack.

However Last month, the committee requested information from the 59-year-old regarding a tour of the Capitol complex he led prior to the attack. Loudermilk denied ever giving a tour of the Capitol, which was closed to tourists in January due to the COVID-19 restrictions.

Interestingly the US Capitol Police from their probe claimed there was no evidence that Loudermilk led the group into the Capitol after reviewing security footage, and that they never considered any of the activities they observed to be suspicious.

However, in a letter to Loudermilk on Wednesday, the committee suggested otherwise. The new video shows the congressman leading a tour of approximately ten individuals to areas in the Rayburn, Longworth, and Cannon House Office Buildings, as well as the entrances to tunnels leading to the United States Capitol

Moreover from the footage, the individuals appeared to be hanging around for several hours, and that some even took photographs and recorded areas of the complex that are not typically of interest to tourists.
