Naomi Judd, an American singer, and actress who formed the country music duo the Judds in 1983, with her daughter Wynonna has died.

She passed away at the age of 76 on April 30, 2022. She was said to have died from the disease of mental illness.

Her death was announced by her daughters in a Twitter post that reads; “Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness.”

Naomi was born on January 11, 1946, in Ashland, Kentucky, the United States to her parents, Pauline Judd and Charles Glen Judd.

She was a mother of two daughters namely Wynonna Judd and Ashley Judd.

Naomi Judd in 2016 disclosed that she has been diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. She was said to have developed depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and suicidal thoughts after her Tour.

Considering her treatment method, the medication she was prescribed, lithium, produced side effects including edema, alopecia, and tremors.
