Despite her well-earned fame, Lady Gaga has faced many struggles in her life and career. And that includes her struggles with diseases and mental illness.
What disease does Lady Gaga have?
In 2018, Lady Gaga disclosed that she had struggled for a long time (with mental health issues), both in public and private life. “…but I truly believe that secrets keep you sick,” Gaga disclosed while receiving an award with her mother Cynthia Germanotta at the year’s Global Changemakers Award in Bel Air, California.
Her trauma inspired her to write the song Bad Romance — which has over 1billion streams on YouTube.

Then, in 2020, she disclosed to Oprah Winfrey some chilling traumatic experiences she endured in the hands of rapists, which had haunted her for years. She spoke about sexual assault, mental health issues, PTSD, and chronic pain during her Oprah interview.
According to her, she was repeatedly raped at just age 19, and then developed PTSD and couldn’t process the trauma as a result of the rape.
“I did not have anyone help me,” she disclosed, “I did not have a therapist, I did not have a psychiatrist, I did not have a doctor help me through it.”
“I all of a sudden became a star and was travelling the world going from hotel room to garage to the limo to stage, and I never dealt with it, and then all of a sudden I started to experience this incredible intense pain throughout my entire body that mimicked the illness I felt after I was raped,” she added.
