Aside from being an extraordinary filmmaker and actor, award-winning American actor George Clooney is known for featuring in dazzling TV commercials.

For more than two decades, George Clooney, 60, has been advertising for companies – the most popular ad being Nespresso coffees.

However, in a recent interview with The Guardian, he made a shocking revelation about why he turned down a commercial for an airline company that would pay him a whopping $35m.

Why did George Clooney reject $35m airline commercial?

It would be hard for any actor or celebrity of his calibre – and in this present age – to reject an ad worth $35m, but George Clooney did.

George was offered $35m for one day’s work for an airline commercial, but he rejected the offer. His reason? He rejected the offer because the commercial was associated with a questionable country, even though it was an ally.

He also believes if ‘it takes a minute’s sleep away from me, it’s not worth it.’

“Well, yeah. I was offered $35m for one day’s work for an airline commercial,” he told The Guardian, “but I talked to Amal [Clooney, the human rights lawyer he married in 2014] about it and we decided it’s not worth it.”

“It was [associated with] a country that, although it’s an ally, is questionable at times, and so I thought: ‘Well, if it takes a minute’s sleep away from me, it’s not worth it,’” he concluded.
