Roland Joseph White born on April 23, 1938, and died on April 1, 2022, was an American bluegrass musician best known for performing on the mandolin.

White was born in Madawaska, Maine, and grew up speaking French. He was of French and Canadian ancestry.

White formed a bluegrass band with his two brothers Eric and Clarence and his sister Joanne when he was a young boy.

Roland White, 83, died on April 1, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, as a result of complications from a heart attack. Roland White was born to parents Eric and Mildred White.

He is survived by his wife and musical partner, Diane Bouska, sister Rosemarie Johnson, daughter Roline Hodge, son Lawrence Lee LeBlanc, grandchildren Shayla Jones and Austin Hodge, and great-grandchild Zoe Jones.

Roland was a long-time Nashville resident who had a long career in Bluegrass Music as a mandolinist, guitarist, vocalist, and teacher.
