John Madden, a legendary NFL coach and commentator from the United States, died on December 28 at the age of 85.
With a winning percentage of 0.759, the retired Oakland Raiders coach had the best record in the NFL among coaches who had coached more than 100 games.
Madden’s work as a pundit and analyst earned him 16 Emmy Awards.
However, Madden has always considered himself first and foremost a coach, according to ESPN.
He was also the creator of EA Sports’ Madden Football video game series.

The official public memorial service for John Madden has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 15, 2022.
The National Football League (NFL) and Madden’s family announced his final burial rites and funeral arrangements on Friday through a joint press statement on its website.
The location for the funeral of the Hall of Fame coach will be in Oakland, California.
Madden, who is known in the Bay Area for his legacy with the Raiders, went to Jefferson High School in Daly City. He lived with his wife in Pleasanton before his passing.
The NFL added that further details on the memorial will be announced in the near future.
“The Madden family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support during the difficult time following John Madden’s passing.
