David Sassoli was born in Florence, Italy on May 30, 1956.

He grew up together with his parents and five other siblings. Sassoli’s parents encouraged him in his endeavours to aspire to greater heights.

This played a key role as he gained a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Rome.

David Sassoli quit journalism to enter politics in 2009. He was then elected President of the European Parliament.

David Sassoli was the President of the European Parliament from 2019 till his death on January 11th, 2022.

Alessandra Vittorini however was born in L’Aquila on September 27, 1957. Her father was a well-known Abruzzese urban planner Marcello Vittorini. He instilled in her the love of architecture and that affected her positively.

Vittorini currently is an architect with a Ph.D. in Territorial and Urban Planning.

In 2015, she was appointed as the Single Superintendency of Archeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape for the City of L’Aquila and the crater towns.
