In the early hours of Saturday, April 9, 2022, 24-year-old football star Dwayne Haskins was killed after he was hit by a dump truck on Interstate 595 near Fort Lauderdale.

According to the 90-year-old, in a radio interview, the late football star was “a guy living to die” and criticized his decision to leave school early, ‘maybe if he stayed in school a year he wouldn’t do silly things [like] jogging on a highway,’ Brandt added.
